River District Association celebrates the holidays and community at annual Christmas on the Plaza Event.
[DANVILLE, VA] – The River District Association is happy to invite the Danville Community to its annual holiday tree lighting event, Christmas on the Plaza on December 3rd from 5-9 pm.
“We are so excited to gather again at the Plaza this year to celebrate community and get into the holiday spirit,” says Kirsten Aherron, Communications and Events Manager for the River District Association. “This River District tradition feels even more important than ever and is a chance to bring everyone together for some fun, and to feel the wonderful sense of place Danville provides.”
Christmas on the Plaza 2021 will be on Friday, December 3rd, from 5-9 pm at Danville’s JTI Fountain Plaza. This year’s event features entertainment from community groups; hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn; selfies with Santa; a coat drive for Coats for Kids; freshly made snow; and special entertainment from two popular local bands: Boule’ and League of Ordinary Gentlemen.
Two other events will be happening simultaneously. Danville Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Luminaria Trail along the Riverwalk. More information about the Luminaria Trail can be found at www.playdanvilleva.com.
